Kalle Kalima & SOI
Kalima’s acoustic group, Soi Ensemble, plays melodically rich folk lieds
composed by Kalle Kalima. The lyrics are written by Essi Kalima. The songs are
performed by three up-and-coming Finnish vocalists, Johanna Iivanainen, Eeppi
Ursin and Merzi Rajala. In the band you find Riikka Lampinen (cello), Kalle
Kalima (guitar), Mikko Helevä (organ) and Mongo Aaltonen (percussion). The
brand new debut album of Soi, “pehmeä” (soft) was released in October 2003 by
Texicalli Records in Finland. Their new album "Koiperhonen" has been issued on
March 2006.
