Pasborg & Mockunas Toxikum_special (DK/LIT/FR)
Pasborg & Mockunas TOXIKUM_special is a new variant of the unique band project leaded by the Danish drummer Stefan Pasborg and the Lithuanian saxophonist Liudas Mockunas. Two French aces join forces to the Danish-Lituanian pair to create a dynamite quartet launched in the Autumn 2006. This brand new line up is:

The music is a highly unorthodox mixture, that’s blending expressive instrumental burnouts, beautiful ballads, filmic horror, rock back-grounds, Baltic apocalypse-hymns and transcendent bell-songs!
The repertoire is written by Stefan Pasborg and Liudas Mockunas, and arranged by the group members. A music that gives a pointing finger towards what the future jazz-music is all about!!
TOXIKUM_special starts this Nordic-Baltic tour with concerts in the hotest music clubs of Norway and Finland . Then they head to Tallinn for a concert in the black box of Theater no99 (produced by Jazzkaar ) and they end this week of tour in Lithuania at the Vilnius Jazz Festival .
The tour is produced by Vapaat äänet – Charles Gil in the Frame of the French Nordic Jazz Transit, the exchange program of the AFIJMA with its Nordic partners. The tour also receives the support of the Danish Jazz Federation.

Tanskalaisrumpali Stefan Pasborgin ja liettualaisfonisti Liudas Mockunasin yhteistyö alkoi vuonna 2000. Näiden vuosien aikana he ovat kokeileet erilaisia kokoonpanoja. Toxikum -nimellä Pori Jazzin Ultra Musicissa 2004 kuultiin kiehuvaa sekstettiä, jossa oli mukana kitaristi Marc Ducret.
Nyt syksyllä 2006 herrat ovat kehittäneet kvartetin, jossa tätä voimakaksikkoa täydentävät ranskalaiset Marc Ducret ja Paul Brousseau. Toxikum-Special lähtee liikeelle Norjasta ja siirtyy sitten Suomeen. Nelikon antimia tullaan nauttimaan Suomessa kahdessa ravintolassa: Helsingin Juttutuvassa keskiviikkona 11.10. ja Turun Blankossa torstaina 12.10.
Tanskassa ”2004 Jazz-löydöksi” äänestetty Toxikum on kuumaa kamaa. Epätavallisen eläväinen yhdistelmä tulista expressionismia, kauniita balladeja, filmaattista kauhua ja balttialaisia apokalypsi-virsiä – ja hetkittäin rokkaa kuin trippaava sarvikuono!”
