Vincent Courtois is invited to perform a solo at the Klaipeda Cello International Festival on May 11th. This will be the second concert of the acclaimed French cellist in Lithuania, after his participation to the Vilnius Jazz Festival 2018. Vincent Courtois will continue his Baltic journey in Madona (Latvia) on May 13th and Põltsamaa (Estonia) on May 14th.

“Like an alchemist, renowned French cellist Vincent Courtois will use his artistic powers and spells to try to unravel the mystery of immortality and eternal life. One of the few masters of this instrument in jazz, Courtois has been releasing solo albums since 1990. A classical training endowed the cello virtuoso with precision, control of the instrument, and an impeccable technique. Courtois’s music paradoxically combines freedom with uncanny precision and attention to detail. His performances, aptly described by some as “unique musical explorations,” are based on a spirit of trust and mutual engagement. This spirit was evident to the Vilnius Jazz 2018 audience when Courtois gave his spectacular concert there. And he will be spreading the magic of cello improvisation in Klaipėda on May 11th.”
