The acclaimed pianist Pierre-François Blanchard makes his Finnish and Baltic debut on his own name with his brand-new trio ALIBI featuring cellist Adèle Viret and clarinettist Thomas Savy.  From 29 September to 11 October 2026 the trio performs two concerts in Finland, six in Estonia and three in Latvia.

Initiated by the pianist Pierre-François Blanchard, the trio ALIBI brings together three outstanding musicians of the French jazz scene. Three generations of brilliant instrumentalists and creative artists perform a repertoire composed by Pierre-François Blanchard whose record #puzzled has been nominated among the best jazz albums 2024 by the Victoires du Jazz and awarded “Coup de coeur” by the Académie Charles Cros. Thomas Savy on clarinets is the veteran of group. He came together with Blanchard in the duo #puzzled that has performed many concerts in Europe and also Japan.  Adèle Viret on cello joins in as a newcomer. The young cellist is already very experienced, she has been awarded the “Prix Frank Ténot” Revelation of the Victoire du Jazz 2025. The partners in crime of the delightful ALIBI take us somewhere else, on a poetic journey to the essence of music.

“Dancing in the Snow” stands as one emblematic composition of this repertoire which draws inspiration from the intimate entries of a diary. Love, sorrow, existential issues and musical reminiscences serve the idiom of Pierre-François Blanchard, a master of melodies that get into your heart and never let go. This pianist-composer-vocalist is a rare bird who is not afraid of emotion. He looks it in the face, observes it, tames it until he translates it with dizzying precision. Pierre-François Blanchard is a pianist whose singular art of improvisation, accompaniment and counterpoint has flourished for over ten years. He has worked with great names in jazz and chanson such as Archie Shepp, Pierre Barouh, Celia Kameni, Marion Rampal, Raphaël Imbert, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Zaza Fournier, Sandra N’kake, Hugh Coltman.
