The violinist Clément Janinet brings his acclaimed trio La Litanie des Cimes (The Litany of the Peaks) to Finland and Estonia from September 18th to 28th. This acoustic band formed with clarinettist Elodie Pasquier and cellist Bruno Ducret celebrates Woodlands its second album on BMC records.

The Litany of the Peaks plays in long sweeps, seemingly slow tempos, and much harmonic contemplation. Within this trio, improvisation is free and introspective without being recluse. The exchanged harmonies are constantly beaten out via the recurrence of the themes. One could almost hear agitated dialogues. It’s a blast of energy, an intimate jumble set against common clarity, powerful, vivacious statements against melodic delicacy.

La Litanie des Cimes was included in the French Jazz Migration programme, which has helped them play dozens of concerts in France and abroad during 2021/22. This year, they were selected to perform at the Jazzahead! showcase in Bremen, with a resounding professional and public success. Their first recording has previously won the highest ratings from Télérama, Jazz Magazine and Citizen Jazz.
